Hurricane Dennis brought surprisingly high flood waters into the coastal towns of Shell Point, Live Oak Island, St. Marks, and Panacea in Wakulla County, Florida when it roared through on Sunday afternoon, July 10, 2005.  Tidal surges of 4 to 5 feet had been predicted for the area, but the actual surge was closer to 10 feet.  As a result, many homes in the coastal areas of Wakulla and Franklin counties were totally destroyed, and many more were severely flooded.  These photo galleries, taken by different residents both during and after the storm, show the devastation that came with Dennis.
