wakulla-springs-cave-249x187Palmetto Expeditions presents Waters Journey:  Following the Water to Wakulla Springs with Jim Stevenson, a guided overland tour experience following the journey of water into the longest and deepest underwater cave system in the world on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 8am to 12pm.

Join noted biologist Jim Stevenson on this fascinating tour and exploration of the spring basin that examines the quantity and quality of water flowing from the Florida capital to world famous Wakulla Spring.  Learn how the astonishing connection of underground caves conducts groundwater through the remarkable Floridan Aquifer.  See the watery windows to this underground wonder.  Experience the scenic basin area of Wakulla Springs set against the attractive backdrop of native flora and wildlife.

Jim will share his remarkable knowledge acquired as chief naturalist of Florida’s state parks for 20 years, so don’t miss this opportunity!

The cost is $18 per person and includes admission to Wakulla Springs State Park.  Over 60% of your fee is donated to two local non-profits working to protect Wakulla Springs.

Car caravan tour departs from Tallahassee with nine stops of interest including lakes, sinkholes, and the wastewater treatment plant on our travel to Wakulla Springs.
