Tip a Cop Fundraiser will Raise Funds for Special Olympics

logo original wakulla county 275.jpgThe Wakulla County Sheriff's Office and the Wakulla Special Olympics have joined forces for a fundraiser to benefit the Special Olympics program.

Tip A Cop will be held Friday, March 12 at Victor's Restaurant in Crawfordville. There will be two sessions, the first at lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the other at dinner, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The county Special Olympics program needs funds to send athletes to county, area and state competitions. The event at Victor's will not only raise money for Special Olympians, but will raise awareness of the Olympic program.

There will be law enforcement officers and athletes at the restaurant to talk about Special Olympics and envelopes will be placed on the tables of those eating for individuals to make contributions to the program.

Patricia Bodiford is an ESE teacher at Wakulla High School and the Special Olympics County Coordinator.
