Selling Wakulla County Homes every Day!

From the Publisher:

Dear Readers,

Happy Valentines Day (one day late!!)

I hope you got out and enjoyed the great outdoors this past weekend; what gorgeous weather we had!! If only it would stay for more than a couple of days in a row. The changes seem to be making lots of Wakulla County residents sick with colds and flu. Be sure to take your vitamins!! If we can make it through the middle of March I think we'll all be in good shape.

The Rotary Valentines Celebration was one of the best ever, with huge crowds, a great parade, and lots of good food and arts and crafts vendors in the park. I hope you were able to make it out for a little while; it really was a fun event this year.

The 1st Annual Stone Age and Primitive Art Festival was also held this past weekend, and it ended up being a really nice event. It was held under the trees at Ochlockonee River State Park, which was a beautiful setting for all the exhibitors. There were some great demonstrations going on throughout the day, and the flint knapping and stone age tool demonstrations were especially interesting. It was a great festival for kids; ours had a blast, and came away with some fun memories. I hope they'll make this an annual event.

The African American Heritage Celebration will be going on this Saturday, February 16 at Hudson Park in Crawfordville. I've been the past two years, and this is really an interesting event. The entertainment is always great, and the food is out of this world. There will be a parade at 10:00, and the fun will continue until 2:00 p.m. Try to come out and see what it's all about; there are usually some great arts and crafts vendors on hand as well. Check out our link below for more details.

By the way, for those of you who took the Parent/Community Underage Drinking Survey, we will be posting the results soon, so be on the lookout. I think they should be pretty enlightening.

Finally, we are running a poll on the site right now asking about the recycling habits of Wakulla County residents. Please go to the Home page of Wakulla.com and take a second to answer it. Thanks!

Have a nice weekend, and try to stay well!

Sincerely,

Mary Katherine Westmark
