Dear Readers,
Only a few more weeks left until school starts, and back-to-school shopping is about to swing into high gear! The Florida Sales Tax Holiday officially begins this Saturday, August 4, at 12:01 a.m., so take advantage of the break and get your shopping done next week. Every little bit helps!
Speaking of school starting back up, check out our Schools section below for information on Open House dates and times, school supply lists, the 2007-2008 school calendar, and school hours of operation. We will be posting the bus routes for all students as soon as they are finalized, as well.
The Inn at Wildwood is sponsoring a first annual "Summerfest" celebration this Saturday, August 4, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. to say thanks to the Wakulla County community for supporting them since their opening. The event is free, and will include entertainment, kid's activities, lunch, and more, so plan to bring the family out for some fun.
The Wakulla 12U Allstars Cal Ripken team is headed for the World Series in Arkansas later this month, and will be holding a Fish Fry Fundraiser to help defray their costs this Saturday, August 4th at 6:00 p.m. at Harvey-Young Farm off Rehwinkle Road in Crawfordville. Come out, enjoy some great food, and help the team continue on their amazing journey!
Congratulations to Angie Walker, the new Assistant Principal at Crawfordville Elementary School! I'm sure she'll be sorely missed at Wakulla Middle School, but we also know she'll make great things happen at CES!
