From the Publisher:
Dear Readers,
I hope you all had a nice weekend. I spent mine in a pain-medication induced stupor after having gum surgery this past Friday. I think the rest of the family managed to have some fun, in spite of me, and that's a good thing!
The scalloping east of the St. Marks Lighthouse continues to be good; get out there and take advantage before the season ends!
Panacea will be holding a huge community clean-up and recycle day this Saturday, July 21. The theme is "Think Clean and Stay Green." Check out our link below under Announcements for all the details; there are a few guidelines and instructions that you will need to be aware of if you are planning on participating. The entire county is invited to bring their hazardous waste materials only to the clean-up, as well.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who continue to visit the site, and those of you who continue to send us your announcements, stories, etc. We really appreciate all the interest we seem to have generated in the community. I'd like to encourage you to take advantage of our Wakulla County Business Directory (our version of the "Yellow Pages"), and our free classified ads. We have a pretty active yard sale category in the Classifieds section, so you bargain shoppers out there need to be sure to give it a look before heading out on your treasure hunt this weekend.
Thanks also to our advertisers; we couldn't exist without you. I'd like to welcome our newest advertisers, White Elephant Vintage and Retro Furniture and Gifts, locally owned by Ina Ecklund, and Peachy Rose Background Checks, LLC, owned by Kathy Hoffman. A sincere thanks to you both!
I'd also like to remind you to send us your birth, wedding, engagement and birthday announcements for posting here on Wakulla.com. It's always free, and we love sharing your good news with the community.
Have a good weekend; be productive, but remember to get in some relaxation, as well.
Sincerely,
Mary Katherine Westmark
Publisher, Wakulla.com
P.S. Congratulations to Will Jones and Amber Perkins on their upcoming marriage this Saturday!!! We love you guys!!
P.S.S. Don't forget about our free classified ads and the free Wakulla County Business Directory!
