--------- 2006 Team Seatrout Tournament Trail Rules ---------
1. The Jerry’s Bait and Tackle Team Seatrout Tournament Trail is an invitational tournament. Please
contact Scott Paterna at 850-421-3248 or email at TMSeatrout@earthlink.net.
2. Each team shall consist of two anglers. One of the anglers must be eighteen (18) years of age.
Alternates may be used for no more than two events and may replace only one team member at a
time.
3. The entry fee will be $50.00 per team per tournament. Both anglers must register and pay at Jerry’s
Bait and Tackle the morning of each event. Each team will be required to file a float plan at time of
payment. All entry fees shall be in cash.
4. All boats that enter these tournaments must comply with the U.S. Coast Guard safety regulations.
Life jackets must be worn anytime the big motor is running. Any team caught breaking this rule will
be disqualified from that day’s event.
5. Boats shall leave the dock no earlier than 6:30 am. Anglers may launch their boats at any boat ramp
between the Econfina River to Mashes Sands. Fishing in any marked channels is prohibited. Live
bait is prohibited. Only artificial bait is allowed. Weigh-In’s shall be at 3:30 p.m. at Jerry’s Bait and
Tackle (664 Woodville Hwy, Crawfordville). There shall be a five (5) minute grace period. Any
angler not the premises by 3:35 p.m. shall not be allowed to weigh fish.
6. Tournament Director reserves the right to inspect any vessel or auto for illegal fish at any time.
Failure to allow for a thorough inspection shall result in immediate dismissal from that day’s event.
Further, that team shall be prohibited from attending or competing in any Team Seatrout event. All
entry fee money shall be forfeited.
7. POINTS RACE: All teams that weigh fish shall have their weight count toward angler of the year
honors. After all nine events, the team with the most weight shall be recognized as Angler of The
Year.
8. Each team will be allowed to possess no more than nine (9) seatrout at weigh-in time. Teams will
weigh-in their best five (5) fish. All fish must be at least 15 inches in total length and no more than
one (1) fish may be longer than 20 inches. The fish will be measured with mouth closed and the
head against the golden rule headboard with tail fanned flat. The center of the tail will determine the
fish’s total length. Any illegal fish brought to the scales will be the responsibility of the contestant. It
is recommended that each team possess a “golden rule†and verify its accuracy prior to blast-off.
The official tournament ruler will be used for all weigh-in measuring. A courtesy measure will be
provided upon request prior to the weigh-in procedure.
9. Any team which abandons the tournament prior to weigh-in time is required to check in with the
tournament director. Failure to do so will result in expulsion from participation in any other Team
Seatrout event. All emergency numbers on file will be called and if we do not succeed locating the
team through these numbers, the Coast Guard will be notified. A sea rescue shall be initiated. Any
and all costs incurred resulting from any teams failure to check in with the tournament director shall
be the responsibility of the boat’s captain
10. Each contestant is expected to conduct themselves in a proper, courteous and professional manner
and are responsible for their own actions, both, on and off the water. The tournament director
reserves the right to require a polygraph test to any team at any time. Failure to comply with this
rule shall result in immediate expulsion and further prohibit you from any Team Seatrout event. Both
captain and crew will both be required to take the polygraph test. If any angler fails this exam, he
shall be required to pay Team Seatrout for any and all costs associated with the polygraph exam. If
any team has won any monies and prizes while failing a polygraph exam, that team shall forfeit all
monies and prizes. Failure to do so will result in a “condemnation money suit†as per civil law. Any
angler adjudicated guilty by a polygraph examiner shall pay any and all costs by Team Seatrout’s
legal council for failure to return any monies and prizes.
11. Any team who requests a polygraph exam of another team must bear the cost of the exam. If the
accused passes the exam, the team initiating the exam shall forfeit his polygraph exam money. If the
accused fails, the accused shall reimburse the exam money to the team initiating the exam process.
12. The use of alcohol during the tournament shall be cause for automatic disqualification from that
day’s event.
13. Anglers shall not accept any product at the tournament which is not sponsored by Team Seatrout.
The tournament director shall have final authority on all matters. Contact Scott Paterna:
