Young Wakulla Angler Lands First Bass using Skills Learned at Kid's Fishing Clinic
After getting inspired by the Florida Wildlife Commission's "Kids' Fishing Clinic" held in Panacea last Saturday, John Ahrendt was fishing with his dad, Kurt, and new puppy, Maggie, dockside on the Wakulla River. Using "Charlie's Worms" purchased from Crum's Mini Mall following the clinic, John initially thought he had snagged his hook but soon it became apparent that he had hooked a "big one".
With encouragement from boaters on the river and help from his dad holding the net to land the fish, John brought the fish up
for a quick measurement and using techniques learned about being a good angler, John released the bass to be enjoyed again by other fishermen.
