Wakulla County Hazardous Waste Disposal Day will be Sat., March 8
Keep Wakulla County Beautiful, Wal-Mart, and the Wakulla County Commissioners will hold Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office Annex at 340 Trice Lane. Marj Law of KWCB would like to remind everyone that the compact fluorescent bulbs used in lamps, etc. should be brought in; they should not be dumped in the regular landfill. Also, computer parts can be brought in.
For the first time ever, old tires will also be accepted. Keep Wakulla County Beautiful would like to thank Richard Russell, manager of the Crawfordville Wal-Mart, for making this possible.
Businesses and schools can come from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM, and must call 926-3153 to register in advance. This is so the people who have one bucket of old paint don't have to wait for someone with 85 buckets to unload!
