Over 3,000 Floridians Have Already Enrolled in Florida Discount Drug Card Program
{sidebar id=1}Governor Charlie Crist today announced that since launching yesterday morning, the Florida Discount Drug Card currently has 3,243 members. The Governor and Lt. Governor visited pharmacies and senior centers around the state yesterday educating Floridians about the card.
As we celebrate this holiday season, I am pleased that over 3,000 Floridians are participating in the Florida Discount Drug Card program,” Governor Crist said. “The health of all Floridians is tremendously important. Floridians eligible for this program have demonstrated their hope for a healthier lifestyle by signing up.”
Governor Crist and Lt. Governor Kottkamp traveled to St. Petersburg, Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Miami and Jacksonville. They were joined by the secretaries of the Department of Health, Department of Children and Families, Department of Elder Affairs and the Agency for Health Care Administration.
Individuals qualify for the card if they are age 60 and older and do not have prescription drug coverage or if they are in the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage gap. Individuals, families and seniors under age 60 may be eligible if they have an annual income of less than 300 percent of the Federal Poverty Level and do not have prescription drug coverage.
To apply for the Florida Discount Drug Card, visit www.FloridaDiscountDrugCard.com and complete an online application or enroll over the phone by calling 1-866-341-8894 or TTY 1-866-763-9630.
