Wakulla County Sheriff's Office and Jackson Hewett Tax Service Team Up for Child Safety

Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson Hewett Tax Service Team Up for Child Safety

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson Hewett Tax Service are teaming up to provide Child Safety tips and children’s identification kits at three upcoming events.

{sidebar id=1}The first event, “Jackson Hewett Day,” will be on February 6, 2010 at the Jackson Hewett offices located at 1606 D, Crawfordville Highway in Crawfordville.  There will be activities for kids in the Jackson Hewett parking lot.  The second and third events will occur on February 13, and March 13, in Azalea Park during the Rotary Club Valentine’s Day celebration and the Lions Club Saint Patrick’s Day celebration.  Look for the WCSO/Jackson Hewett table in the park at these two events.

At each of these events there will be given free of charge Child ID Kits and other safety tip information valuable to parents. The Child ID Kits are to be used to have fingerprints, dental, medical and other personal profile information vital to law enforcement and other emergency personnel in the case of an incident involving a child.

Candace Kennedy and Homer Tedder of Jackson Hewett, said, “On behalf of Jackson Hewett we are pleased to again offer the ID kits and safety information to the community’s parents.  This is our second year of working with the Sheriff’s Office to accomplish this goal."

Sheriff David Harvey said, “The information that is available to law enforcement through the Child ID Kits is critically important.  We hope all of our children’s parents have this kind of current information on hand when needed.  Our partnership with Jackson Hewett in furthering the safety of our children is very much appreciated.”
