Wakulla County Manhunt Suspect Captured

NATHANIEL-ALLEN-WILLIAMSA manhunt lasting approximately 3 1/2 hours finally ended with an arrest this evening in Wakulla County.

According to a Wakulla County Sheriff's Department spokesperson, the office received a call at approximately 3:15 p.m. today alerting them that a twenty year old male had broken into a home in the Wakulla Gardens area.  During the break-in the suspect, later identified as Nathaniel Allen Williams, III assaulted a 31 year old six months pregnant female with a knife.  Williams  managed to get out of the back of the house as law enforcement officers were starting to close in on the Wakulla Gardens area.  Officers chased him on foot through a nearby wooded area, then created a perimeter around the Klickat Drive and Maido Street portion of Wakulla Gardens.

At this time canine teams were called in from both the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office and the Wakulla Correctional Institution, as well as a search helicopter from the Leon County Sheriff's Department.  The team searched the area for approximately 3 1/2 hours before receiving a tip that Williams was located near the Stow Away Storage Center on the corner of Highway 365 (Spring Creek Highway) and Highway 98 (Coastal Highway).   Law enforcement closed in on the location and Williams was arrested at 6:45 p.m. without incident.  He was armed with a knife and dressed in camouflage.

Williams has been charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment, home invasion burglary, and several more felony charges on top of those.  He is being held at the jail with no bond.

An EMS team treated the female victim at the scene of the assault, who then refused transportation after treatment.
