Wakulla County House Fire Claims Two Lives
A house fire just south of Crawfordville at 122 Woodland Drive has claimed the lives of two as yet unidentified people. The Wakulla County Sheriff's Department received a call from a neighbor at 3:30 a.m. on the morning of March 29, 2007 alerting them that a trailer was on fire. Attempts to contact Chris Miller, a resident of the singlewide trailer, have been unsuccessful at this point. The bodies of the victims have been removed and an autopsy will be performed.
According to Wakulla County Sheriff David Harvey, the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office crime lab and the State Fire Marshall are currently at the scene with accelerant sniffing dogs. "It's a tragedy," said Harvey. "We will do a full crime scene investigation to determine what caused the fire and whether or not any foul play was involved." Sheriff Harvey asks anyone who might have any information or knowledge about the incident to contact the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office at (850)926-0800.
