WCSO Annual Jail and Bail "Hauled 'em In" for Needy Wakulla County Families

richard morgan and wandy stokley 250.gif The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office held its annual "Jail and Bail" this past Friday, November 9, at Azalea Park in Crawfordville.  The lights flashed on the makeshift "jail cell" as Wakulla County deputies brought in "arrested" community members throughout the day.  The event, sponsored by the WCSO Victim's Advocate Unit, raises money annually for the "Wakulla County Supports Others" Victim's Advocate emergency fund.  (Pictured at left:  Richard Morgan and Wanda Stokley)

Individuals and/or businesses paid to have friends, family members, and co-workers "arrested" throughout the day for $50 each.  The "prisoners" were required to spend at least 20 minutes each in "jail", or pay $20 to get "early release".  The jail was busy all day, with approximately 30 different people arrested throughout the event.

This year's Jail and Bail organizers were Victim Advocates Tina White-Brimner and Laurie Langston, as well as Major Larry Massa.  Heidi Taylor and Susie Bowen of the WCSO also helped out, keeping track of the funds that were donated throughout the day.  Deputies Jason Brooks, Sean Wheeler, Mike Helms, and Leif Sparby, as well as Sergeant John Zarate spent the day making "arrests" all over Wakulla County for the event.
