Two Crawfordville Residents Injured in Automobile Accident

{sidebar id =1}Crawfordville resident Hugh M. Taylor, age 62, and a 17-year-old Crawfordville resident were involved in a traffic accident in Wakulla County at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2009.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, the unnamed teenager was listed as being in critical condition as of yesterday; Taylor's condition is reported as serious.

The report stated that he teenager, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was driving a 1997 Dodge south on County 365 (Spring Creek HIghway).  The car left the roadway and drove onto the west shoulder. The teen overcorrected when trying to return to the road, which caused the car to spin counter-clockwise and re-enter the roadway, crossing over the southound lane of County 365 and into the northbound lane.  This placed the Dodge into the path of the 1993 Toyota pickup being driven by Taylor, who was wearing his seatbelt. The report stated that the right side of the Dodge collided with the front of the Toyota.

Both drivers were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.  The Wakulla County Sheriffs Office, Wakulla EMS and Wakulla Fire Rescue assisted at the scene.
