Henry "Buddy" Wells Announces Bid for Wakulla County Supervisor of Elections
My name is Henry (Buddy) Wells and I want to be your next Supervisor of Elections. For over a decade I have had the dream of achieving this goal. I will run as a Democrat.
I am a native of Wakulla County and the oldest son of Bobby and Grace Harrell Wells.
In 1975 I married my childhood sweetheart, Letha Metcalf, the daughter of Emma Lou Gilley Metcalf and the late John H. Metcalf. I have one son, Brandon, a senior Bright Future Scholar at Florida State University.
After serving in the US Navy and living in Georgia and Louisiana, I returned home to Wakulla County in 1979.
{sidebar id=1}I have been employed for twenty seven years with St. Marks Powder/General Dynamics, formally Olin Corporation. The last twenty two years were spent in the Division of Research and Development. My wife Letha has been employed in the office of the Wakulla County Clerk of Circuit Court for the past nineteen years.
I am an active member of Lake Ellen Baptist Church. Volunteer activities include leading worship services at Eden Springs Nursing Home; serving as the charter president of the Crawfordville Lions Club; and being a member of the Tallahassee Charter of the Florida Federation of the Blind.
I feel that Sherida Crum has done an outstanding job as Supervisor of Elections. I am prepared to maintain the integrity and friendly climate of that office. I will further implement new technologies and implement a strategic plan that specifically identifies and removes obstacles to the voting process.
Sincerely,
Henry “Buddy” Wells
