Girl Scout Volunteers Gather in Service to Area Girls
The Girl
Scout Council of the Apalachee Bend, Inc. held a membership kick-off and expo
for adults volunteers who serve as leaders and mentors for area Girl Scouts, on
Saturday, July 19, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at A Camp For All Seasons. The 2008 Membership Kick-Off & Expo
signaled the start of the new training year for adults volunteering to build
girls of courage, confidence and character through troop and Council
activities. More than eighty volunteers
gathered in fellowship to plan for the upcoming Girl Scout year, which coincides
with the start of school.
In addition to membership information, those in attendance met with area businesses and organizations whose partnership providing programs and facilities for skill development is vital to the success of the girls participating. Among those in attendance were representatives from:
