Fundraising Efforts are Underway for Wakulla County Civic Center
The Wakulla Expo Association is excited to announce a fundraising campaign to help raise money toward opening the doors of the WAKULLA COUNTY CIVIC CENTER. The Civic Center facility will have a seating capacity of 8,000 people. It will be located on a 48 acre site on Lower Bridge Road in Crawfordville that will allow for both indoor and outdoor activities. It will operate as a self-supporting non-profit organization with a fee structure for rental.
This vision has been in the making since 1996. Over the past 10 years the land has been purchased, the architectural drawings have been completed and the site work has been completed.
{sidebar id=1}The benefits of such a building include having an indoor facility to hold sporting events, concerts, theatrical productions, trade shows, business expos, educational and career fairs, high school graduations, car and boat shows, banquets, rodeos, large public meetings and county or state fairs. The building can also be used as an emergency relief shelter or a staging area during natural disasters.
The board of directors include D.R. Vause, William Versiga, William Green, David Miller, Bill Payne, Mike Stewart, Joe Shingles, Lee Vause and Alison DeFoor. They need everyone’s help in making this dream come true for the citizens of Wakulla County. If you would like to help by volunteering, making a donation or hosting a fundraising event, you may contact D.R. Vause at 575-4563. You may mail your tax-deductible gift to Wakulla Expo Association, P.O. Box 237, Crawfordville, Florida 32326. You can make a difference in our county’s future.
