On Saturday, October 17th Big Bend Horseman’s Association hosted a horse show for the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign for breast cancer awareness.  This show was to benefit our own local Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center.  Two hundred plus spectators watched while over 65 different horses and riders participated in the horse show.

“We had a great show,"commented a spokesperson from BBHA.  "We knew it would be a success, but had no idea it would be to this magnitude.  We want to thank everyone who supported and sponsored this show and we look forward to doing this again next year."  The BBHA was able to raise over $2,000 for the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center.

Big Bend Horseman’s Association is a new club based in Monticello.  Although just  forming this year, the club has already made tremendous strides to give back to the community.  One show raised money and donations for the Jefferson County Humane Society and during this month’s show the Equine Rescue & Rehabilitation Ranch of Tallahassee, Florida provided the concessions and raised almost $500 for the horse rescue.

The public is invited to attend our shows.  There is no admission charge and the club fosters good family fun and fellowship.  For more information and pictures, please see our website at:  www.BigBendHorse.com
