St. Marks Yacht Club will Host Annual River of Lights Boat Parade Dec. 13

{sidebar id=3}The St. Marks Yacht Club will present its annual River of Lights Boat Parade this Saturday, December 13, 2008 beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The parade will take place on the St. Marks River in beautiful St. Marks, Florida. 

Viewing sites for the parade include the St.Marks Boat Landing (Santa will visit there), Shields Marina, Riverside Cafe, and Lynn’s Riverside Marina.

If you would like to participate by entering a boat in the parade, you will need email Mike Pruitt at mpruitt@phpm.com This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or call him at 925-1053 or 566-8158.  Please provide the name of the boat and its length (all sizes and types of boats are welcome to participate).  Both power and sailboats may participate as long as they are motorized and have proper lights for nighttime operation.  Note: All boats must be decorated (music and holiday lighting are encouraged).

A Captain’s Meeting will be held at the St.Marks Yacht Club (in the clubhouse) on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 4:00 P.M.

Parade Plan:  Participating boats will congregate in front of the St.Marks Yacht Club at 6:00 P.M.  The parade of boats will proceed down the Wakulla River and up the St.Marks River to Lynn’s Riverside Marina.  All boats will then make a 180 degree turn and proceed back down the river to the  St.Marks Boat Landing (at “The Fort”).  At this point, the parade of boats will make another 180 degree turn and repeat the route one more time.  After this second trip around the course the parade flotilla will disband.

All boats are to monitor channel 69 during the parade.
