Weltman Joins Wells Fargo
The Merger of Wachovia Bank and A. G. Edwards into what will now become the “New” Wells Fargo Bank N.A., as the two were recently purchased by Wells Fargo, will create presumably the largest bank in the nation based on branches, deposits and financial strength, and has already had some local effect in Crawfordville. Wells Fargo was looking for someone to handle senior products in the panhandle of Florida and the Big Bend, and in south Georgia, and one of our local residents was up for the task. Michael J. Weltman, longtime Reverse Mortgage expert, and Senior Financial Specialist, has been asked to join this 150+ year old organization, as part of its Senior Products Division.
{sidebar id=1}Weltman, who has made Crawfordville and Wakulla County his home and the base of his business enterprises since 2002, will become Wells Fargo's leading expert handling Reverse Mortgage’s throughout South Georgia and North Florida. Weltman is best known for his active involvement in the community and in the local real estate and mortgage business over the past 8 years here. He has been working very closely with many of our local title companies and law firms as well as surveyors and appraisers, builders and brokers providing jobs and opportunities and running companies and offices in Wakulla County since 2002. Owner of Financial Consulting Services Group and Land Lots And Homes.com LLC, he has specialized in helping seniors and retirees with their retirement planning as it relates to real estate, land, investment property, second homes, property management, real estate IRA’s, reverse mortgages and more. He is a Florida licensed Real Estate Instructor and Real Estate Broker, as well as Insurance Broker and Mortgage Banker.
Weltman currently serves the Wakulla Council of Realtors as their Director, a post he has been elected to twice over the last two years. He will also be the President of this local Realtor Council in 2010. His other capacities are serving on the Board of Directors for the Tallahassee Board of Realtors, and on the Board of Directors for Alpha Kappa Psi at FSU, the International Professional Business Fraternity, as well as membership in many professional associations and Wakulla professional organizations including past Director and Treasurer of Wakulla Station Fire Dept #2.
{sidebar id=1}Weltman brings a wealth of experience and education to his new post including a masters degree in finance and membership in many originations that focus on seniors, finance and real estate. Those memberships include the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association, Council of Seniors Real Estate Specialists, Association of Chartered Senior Financial Planners and Society of Certified Senior Advisors.
Weltman will be available at his recently opened Wells Fargo office in Crawfordville ( look for a chamber ribbon cutting soon and mixer) at the corner of Cajer Posey and Shadeville Hwy across from Michelle's Store. He will also meet with clients by appointment at all 12 locations of Wachovia Bank soon to be Wells Fargo Bank Branches. Six branches are in Tallahassee as well as Perry, Madison, Valdosta, Gainesville, Lake City and Panama City. Wells Fargo is the #1 Retail Reverse Mortgage Lender in the nation and one of the oldest and most recognized corporations in the world, founded in the 1850’s during the gold rush in California.
When not traveling for business, or helping seniors or teaching classes on reverse mortgages or attending meetings, Weltman can be found down by the Wakulla River where he lives in the first new construction home he built as a realtor and financed as a mortgage broker, with some land, kayaks and a boat and five dogs he has rescued from various places. His other hobbies include reading and playing the drums.
