Posh will Sponsor Crafts for Kids During Christmas in Sopchoppy

children doing art 250.gifChildren’s Holiday craft activities will be held at “Posh,” 114 Municipal Ave., in Sopchoppy during the Christmas in Sopchoppy festival, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., December 13, 2008. The activities are free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Wakulla County 4-H programs.

Wanda Murray, 4-H volunteer and arts & crafters leader, Cathy Frank, County Extension Office Manager, and Allison Green, will be supervising the activities which will include pop sickle snowmen, wreaths made from recycled CD’s, and other crafts that children from age 3-years-old into teenage years can easily make to take home for the Holidays.

In keeping with the Posh mission: “Helping you, to help yourself, while helping others,”  owner, Debra E. Dix, wanted to offer a holiday activity for children during Christmas in Sopchoppy, and also wanted to have that activity benefit a local cause. Since the 4-H clubs, through the County Extension Office, are geared towards giving children the opportunity to learn valuable life skills and to “make the best better,” Dix thought the 4-H program a worthy beneficiary of local support.

{sidebar id=1}At this time, Posh is accepting any donations of unwanted CD’s, children’s tube socks, bobble eyes, rice, and any other unwanted craft supplies, to benefit this event and to give to the Wakulla County 4-H program. Any support is greatly appreciated, and the arts and crafts activities will be great fun for all the participating children.

Questions pertaining to the children’s craft activities may be directed to Dix at Posh: (850) 962-1010 or by contacting her cell: (850) 528-5838. Questions about the Wakulla County 4-H program can be directed to Sherri Hood, Wakulla County 4-H agent,  at (850) 926-3931.
