New Wakulla County Planning Board Member Needed

I would like to thank Randy Brown for his unheralded, but vital service to Wakulla County over the last 3 years.  He has labored without complaint or pay; however, his views were heard and his opinions counted.  He has resigned.  Randy, thank you for your service.

Randy’s resignation provides me an opportunity (and obligation) to appoint someone to the Wakulla County Planning Board.  I would love to appoint someone who lives in District III.  This is basically the Crawfordville area out Rehwinkle to Hwy 98 and out MLK, Jr. Memorial Road to Spring Creek Hwy and out Shadeville Hwy to Spring Creek Hwy (see our web site for an exact map).

There are few requirements but the person I’m looking for will do the following:

• Keep an open mind.
• Study the issues presented and come to the meetings as well prepared as possible.
• Use their own judgment no matter how they think I feel—we will disagree, I guarantee it!  I think Randy will confirm I never spoke with him about his views or how he voted.

If you are interested in a thankless job that takes one Monday evening a month and are willing to take massive amounts of unjust criticism from the public for no pay, please give me a call or email me (ebrimner@mywakulla.com)

Please think about volunteering for this very important duty that could impact Wakulla County for years to come.
