District 1 Incumbent Endorses Alan Brock

District 1 Incumbent Endorses Alan Brock

It is after thoughtful and careful consideration of the challenges facing the future of Wakulla County that I offer my support, recommendation and endorsement of Mr. Alan Brock for County Commissioner for District One which I will vacate.

{sidebar id=1}The future Board will face continued hard decisions.  While most would desire seeing our county remain the rural area we have enjoyed for a lifetime, it is unrealistic to believe this will ever be again. Even though the Florida population growth rate shows a recent decline, growth is expected to continue through 2010, then projected to return to more normal growth for the next ten years,  thereby dictating that we will continue to face the challenges of handling growth, while at the same time acknowledging that when one has met all requirements imposed by the governing authorities, newcomers have every right to live, travel, build and/or create a business here.  With the outstanding school system we have, along with our accredited law enforcement agency, coupled with the low crime rate for a county this size, and the natural beauty of this area, Wakulla County is one of the most desirable places in Florida to relocate, homestead and raise a family.

We cannot afford to look backwards.  The new Board will have to be fresh, forward-thinking individuals.  Our present Board has provided the most outstanding and professional staff yet to serve Wakulla County, and I am confident that Alan Brock, working with this staff, can bring new ideas and solutions that will benefit the County and make us proud by serving as Commissioner in District One, representing our County, not only locally, but in every required circumstance.

Respectfully,
Brian P. Langston
