It’s hard to believe that the holidays are already among us, fall is in the air and the children can sense the excitement. Here at the Pre-K we were busy putting together our 4th annual Family Fun Day!! And thanks to all the teachers and parents it was a huge success. Our children and their parents came out November 3rd and enjoyed an evening of great family fun. We had hay rides, jumping house, putt-putt golf, face painting, bingo, the cake walk plus many more. The children and their parents munched on a menu of cotton candy, snow cones, hamburgers and hot dogs. We are hoping to use the money we earned to buy items to go with our new curriculum we are using this year. Again thanks to all that helped make this a great Family Fun Day.
We would like to welcome some new faces to our Pre-K staff. Carol O’Cain moved to Wakulla County with her family from Leon County and is now teaching a Pre-K class. Janie Tucker taught in the district previously, but moved away and has returned to teach at Pre-K. Toyia Williams is now working as one of the ESE teachers. We have several new people filling paraprofessional or teaching assistant positions. At Wakulla Educational Center we are glad to welcome Jerri Maloy, Rebecca Swanson, and Amy Taff. At Sopchoppy Educational Center, we welcome Donna Cross and Heather Strickland. We are very happy to have these new people on our faculty.
Wakulla Educational Center has another wonderful group of parent volunteers for the 2006-2007 school year. We would like to thank the following people for devoting their time and energy to our children: Michelle Ammerman, Anna Cone, Michelle Cramer, Lecia Ferrell, Aaron Godwin, Melanie Harper, Margaret Hegg, Christine Kimmons, Brenda Lawhon, Kristin Oglesby, Angela Parker, Gannie Roberts, Misty Smith, Somer Strickland, Kara Tabb, Linda Voyles, Travis Walker, Misty Weeks, Lachrish Wells, and Felvis White.
