Wakulla Middle School Millionwordaires End the Year with Huge Water Balloon Fight
Written by Publisher, Wakulla.com Friday, 28 May 2010 07:06
Wakulla Middle School has had a word war this year. Every week the grade level number of words read totals were reported, with the 8th grade being the ultimate winner.
WMS also recognized each student that read a million words with a t-shirt, their picture on the Millionwordaire Wall, and an announcement on the morning broadcast.
The years' culminating activity was a water balloon fight between the Millionwordaires and the reading teachers with the administration helping out. Students spent the day preparing their arsenal for the big battle, and at 1:30, the war was on! The sky was filled with water-filled balloons, with the end result being a large group of soaked students and teachers!
Being a Millionword Reader at WMS is a matter of great pride and prestige! Thanks to the teachers who worked so hard to encourage their students to become Million Word Readers. Mrs. Thomas, WMS Media Specialist is very excited about all the plans for readers for our next school year. "Wakulla Middle is going to be the most exciting place to be for readers, " said Thomas.
