Wakulla High Art Students Stand Out at North Florida Fair
Thinking outside the box, being original and creative as well as problem solving are a few benefits students in art classes gain. Wakulla High School Art Students also achieved notice of their excellent, creative endeavors when they won 27 ribbons from the North Florida Fair Youth Art Contest in November.
The seven first place awards went to: Justin Morgan for his 3D Mask; Lauren Gentry for her Self-portrait in acrylic and for her New Orleans pen and ink; Caitlin Culbertson for her Girl in the Road, oil pastels; Jeffery Johnson for his Self-portrait in pencil; Bailey Russom for her Charlie, pen and ink animals; and Rebecca Williams for her Woman’s Face, mixed media.
Nadine Tang, Bridget Anne Burke and Jennifer Greene won 2nd place ribbons, and Victoria Hamel and Caitlin Culbertson won 3rd place ribbons. Wakulla High Art Teacher Cassie Tucker submitted 25 paintings and seven 3D masks in the Art Contest.
