Written by Nancy Floyd Richardson, WHS Avid Program Tuesday, 03 July 2012 12:50
Congratulations to AVID 4 student Demetrius Lindsey who has placed as a top 10 finalist for the national K-12 Samsung Superhero Contest!
Students were tasked with creating a 1 to3 minute video portraying a historical character and were judged on presentation performance, character and content accuracy, and content quality. Demetrius chose Tuskegee Airman Calvin J. Spann.

You can vote for his video at http://www.samsungsuperhero.com/
Demetrius is in the lead now, but it is only by two votes. Every vote counts!
You can only vote once, so please share with your friends, family members, and even your Facebook friends. It would be an honor for a future film maker from Wakulla to receive a national award such as this, and it will be a great addition to his resume as he applies for colleges and scholarships. (He's even wearing a Wakulla football shirt in his video!)
Congrats also to Wakulla High School teachers Mr. Marc Bowerman, who has taught Demetrius his video production skills, and to Mrs. Kristi Keith, who originally encouraged this video through an American History assignment!
