Reggie Coles and Kiara Gay are 2007 Wakulla High School Homecoming King and Queen

kiara and reggie 150.gifimg_5954.gif Wakulla High School held its 2007 Homecoming Celebration this past Friday, October 26, 2007 on Reynolds Field at J. D. Jones Stadium in Medart, Florida.  The crowning ceremony took place during halftime, and the 2007 Queen and King were seniors Reggie Coles and Kiara Gay.  Kiara was unable to attend the ceremony as she was away playing at a district volleyball tournament.  Her mother, Kimberly Randolph, represented her in her absence.  Reggie and Kiara's mother were crowned by the 2006 WHS Homecoming Queen, Victoria Adams.  Victoria is currently attending Tallahassee Community College and working at Trinity Lutheran Pre-School.  She was escorted by Chad Oaks (both pictured above right).The 2006 WHS Homecoming King, Dion Bryant, was unable to attend as he is currently away in California on a football scholarship.  

Nine WHS students (five boys and 4 girls) represented the Class of 2007 on the field.  There wre two 9th grade representatives, two 10th grade representatives, and four 11th grade representatives.  The boys were escorted by their mothers, and the girls were escorted by their fathers, with a few changes here and there.

9th Grade Representatives

Blair Tucker

img_5921.gif Freshman Blair Tucker is the daughter of Kim and Delwyn Tucker.  She was escorted by her father, Delwyn Tucker.  Blair enjoys cheerleading, gymnastics, and going to the beach, and hanging out with friends.  She plans to enjoy her next three years of high school, graduate from college, and grace the cover of a fashion magazine.  She would like to give special thanks to her fellow ninth graders, her family, friends, and God.

Tanner Cash

img_5916.gif Freshman Tanner Cash is the son of Traci and Jerry Cash.  He was escorted by his mother, Traci Cash.  Tanner enjoys soccer, hunting, fishing, hanging out with his friends, and of course, the ladies!  His future plans are to graduate from Florida State and become an architect.  He would like to give special thanks to his family and friends for supporting him, and his big sis, Shelby.  He also thanks Blair and Kelsey for making him laugh.

10th Grade Representatives

Denver Defend

img_5913.gif Sophomore Denver Defend is the daughter of Cynthia Wier and Douglas Defend.  She was escorted by her father, Douglas Defend.  Denver enjoys being a part of the Vocal Ensemble group at WHS.  She plans to become a photographer, or major in Psychology.  She would like to give special thanks to her mom, who was always there for her.  She also thanks the love of her life, Bobby Smith, and all her friends who were there to support her.  Also to her step-father, who pushes her to be better.

Jay Peacock

img_5915.gif Sophomore Jay Peacock is the son of Nancy anbd Grant Peacock.  He was escorted by his mother, Nancy Peacock.  Jay likes to play guitar in his free time, play soccer, and fish.  His future plans are to start a successful rock and roll band.  He would like to say a special thanks to his mom, dad, family, and everyone who voted for him.

 

11th Grade Representatives

Shelby Cash

img_5918.gif Junior Shelby Cash is the daughter of Traci and Jerry Cash.  She was escorted by her father, Jerry Cash.  Shelby enjoys cheerleading, Student Government, church, and spending time with friends and family.  Her future plans include attending the University of Florida to become an orthodontist, even though she is a "big time" Seminole fan.  Shelby would like to give special thanks to God, her family, and friends for their love and support.  Also to Tanner, for being the coolest little brother ever, and Allen for always making her smile.

Kelsey Harrell

img_5927.gif Junior Kelsey Harrell is the daughter of G. W. and Theresa Harrell.  She was escorted by her father, G. W. Harrell.  Kelsey is involved in the Environmental Club, Dramatis Personae, soccer, tennis, Model UN, and Ladies of Excellence.  She plans to bring peace, happiness, and harmony to every part of the world.  She would like to say special thanks to God, friends, and family.  Also to Mickey Mouse, and all the trees, flowers, and animals that bring her joy.

Mookie Forbes

img_5922.gif Junior Mookie Forbes is the son of Carl Sr. and Brenda Forbes.  He was escorted by his grandmother, Beatrice Farmer.  Mookie enjoys football, wrestling, weight lifting, chillin' with his boys, and lovin' this great Wakulla life.  After graduation he plans to attend college for wrestling and become the best that he can be.  He would like to give special thanks to the Lord above, his family, and grandmom for making him who he is, and also to the Class of 2009.

Ant Mills

img_5924.gif Junior Ant Mills is the son of Barbara Jackson and Prescott Mills.  He was escorted by his mother, Barbara Jackson.  Ant enjoys basketball, working at Lindy's, and, in his own words, "being a part-time player and a full-time cutie".  His future plans are to go to college and try his hardest to "make it big".  He also plans to marry Alicia Keys.   Ant give special thanks to his "Moms and Pops", Rocky Mt. Chuch of Christ, his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, and also to the Class of 2009.

12th Grade Representatives

Hannah Battle

img_5928.gif Senior Hannah Battle is the daughter of Donnie and Karen Battle.  She was escorted by her father, Donnie Battle.  Hannah enjoys cheerleading, weight lifting, and National Honor Society.  Her future plans are to move away and go to college, where she will major in Architecture.  Hannah would like to thank her parents for all their support, and Cory for always being there.


Kiara Gay

img_5935.gif Senior Kiara Gay is the daugher of Kimberly Randolph and step-father Kenneth Randolph.  Kiara, who was away in Panama City at a district volleyball tournament, was represented by her mother, Kimberly Randolph, who was escorted by Student Government Vice President, Brandon Sapp.  Kiara enjoys playing Varsity volleyball, Varsity basketball, and running track.  She plans to attend a Division 1, four-year university on an athletic scholarship in volleyball or basketball, and major in Law or Criminology.  She would like to give special thanks to her family for all their support and her grandmother for her love and care for the past 17 1/2 years.

Jessica Renae Hicks

img_5936.gif Senior Jessica Hicks is the daughter of Cheryl and the late Michael Hicks.  She was escorted by her mother, Cheryl Hicks.  Jessica is actively involved at Crawfordville United Methodist Church, and is a volunteer at Crawfordville Elementary School.  Her future plans are to attend Florida State University following high school to pursue a career in Pediatrics.  Jessica would like to thank her family for all the encouragement to be somebody and to follow her dreams.  She would also like to thank Ms. Cook for encouraging her to go after what she wants.  Also God, for making everything possible and blessing her with a great family and the opportunity for a great future. 

Carly Hillier

img_5944.gif Senior Carly Hicks is the daughter of Sean and Terry Hillier.  She was escorted by her father, Sean Hillier.  Carly enjoys volunteering in the community, as well as being a dual enrollment student at Tallahassee Community College.  She is currently employed by St. Marks Power.  Her future plans are to attend TCC and become certified in Dental Assisting, then pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene.  She would like to say a special thanks to all of her family and friends who have supported her over the years.

Karlyn Scott

img_5946.gif Senior Karlyn Scott is the daughter of Rosalyn and Larry Scott.  She was escorted by her father, Larry Scott.  Karlyn is a 4-year Varsity softball starter, 3-year Varsity golfer, 1-year Varsity weight lifter, and 1-year Varsity cross-country runner.  She also plays travel softball for Team North Florida.  She is presently ranked 6th in the Class of 2008.  Karlyn's future plans include attending Florida Southern College after high school, where she has been offered an athletic and academic scholarship.  She will play softball, study Biology or Mathematics, and then attend dental school.  Karlyn would like to thank her parents who have always encouraged her to do her best, loved her no matter what, and supported her in everything that she does.  "I love you, Mom and Dad!"  Also, to Tyler, who is the best big brother she could ever wish for and an awesome role model.  "I love you bro!"  Finally, to her friends.  "Ya'll are the best!  I'm going to miss ya'll!  Meghan, I will see you down south.  OH YEAH!"

Nicholas Baxter

img_5930.gifSenior Nick Baxter is the son of Diana Sutton and Buddy Baxter.  He was escorted by his mother, Diana Sutton.  He enjoys playing soccer and baseball, and spending time with friends and family.  His future plans include attending college and becoming a firefighter.  Nick would like to give special thanks to his family and friends for all their love and support, and to Rachel for making life interesting.


Reggie E. Coles, II

img_5933.gifSenior Reggie Coles is the son of Audrey and Reginald Coles.  He was escorted by his mother, Audrey Coles.  Reggie is involved in Navy Jr. ROTC Colorguard and Armed Basic, Varsity soccer, and is an active leader in the youth group at Sopchoppy United Methodist Church.  Reggie plans to graduate in 2008, go to a New England college to study Law and Journalism, and become President of the United States of America.  Reggie would like to thank God, his Momma and Dad, George Sr., Arata and Autumn, Steve, Jeff, Andy and Kim for all being there for him.

Cory Eddinger

img_5940.gifSenior Cory Eddinger is the son of Tom and Jan Eddinger.  He was escorted by his mother, Jan Eddinger.  Cory enjoys playing Varsity football and Varsity baseball.  After high school he plans to attend college and major in Business.  He would like to say a special thanks to his parents for everything they have done for him.

 

C. J. Holton

Holton is the son of Rosalind Donaldson, and was escorted by her during the crowning ceremony.  His extra-curricular activities include four years of Varsity football, and four years of Varsity weight lifting.  C. J. plans to attend Florida State University where he will major in Criminology.  He would like to say a special thanks to his mom, grandma, and family for all their love and support.
