Medart Elementary School First Graders Help Support Wakulla Animal Shelter

pennies-for-puppiesThe first grade classes of Medart Elementary School donated $200 to the Wakulla Animal Shelter.

They collected “Pennies for Puppies” during the month of December, in lieu of exchanging gifts.

“We wanted our students to experience the joy of giving, and chose a worthy group for our efforts,” said the first grade team.  The first graders then received a kind thank you note from Heide Clifton, Vice President of CHAT of Wakulla, Inc.

The students plan a “Doggie Dialogue” as they write letters to the pups in the shelter.  They hope the letters and drawings will brighten the puppies’ home as they await adoption.
