Shadeville Elementary School 24th Annual Fall Festival to be Held
Autumn
is here and it's time again for Shadeville Elementary School's 24th
Annual Fall Festival, to be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 2:00
p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be lots of fun, games and prizes at
booths run by teachers and parent volunteers, including the popular
Cake Walk, Giant Slide, Bingo, Jumping House, Face Painting, Roller
Races, and the Hayride. Grandma's Attic will also be open with gently
used treasures for everyone; come early to get first pick!
The Coronation Ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m., and each homeroom will have two representatives on the coronation court. In keeping with the school’s new Positive Behavior System (PBS) that is being implemented schoolwide, coronation representatives were selected based on outstanding citizenship. Each time a child was recognized for exhibiting one or more of the “Warrior Expectations” his/her name was placed in a jar in the classroom. Recognition could be earned throughout the school: bus, lunchroom, playground, art or music. On Wednesday, October 24th, one boy and one girl name was drawn from every classroom’s jar. Those students will represent his/her classroom on the coronation court.
Also, the classroom which sells the most festival “Big Ticket Drawing” tickets will have their representatives crowned on stage. The winning classrooms from each of the coronation categories will also receive a field trip to Wakulla Springs.
After the Coronation Ceremony, enjoy the live
entertainment which will be provided by a host of local talent
including the Mountain Dew Cloggers, Crawfordville TaeKwonDo Academy,
USA Defense Academy, Dancing with Miss Denise, Wakulla Dance Academy,
students from Michelle Snow School of Music, the Shadeville
Warriorettes (our own twillers) and music from local bands.
There will be loads of good food available including hamburgers and
hotdogs. Wash it all down with an ice cold drink or snow cone. Then
stop by the wonderful room full of handmade baked goods (cakes,
cupcakes, brownies, and cookies). On your way out don't forget to
visit the "Pumpkin Patch" to pick out your Autumn Jack-O-Lantern.
The Festival is Shadeville's only fundraiser (in lieu of selling
candy, wrapping paper or magazines) and is a major event put on by the
PTO and the Shadeville Staff and Faculty. The festival is used to
raise funds to provide educational benefits that may not otherwise be
available to the students at Shadeville during this time of budget cuts
and increased costs.
Don't miss out on this great day of family fun and don't forget to
bring your friends! Shadeville Elementary School is located on Spring
Creek Highway 1 mile north of Shadeville Highway (Hwy 61). Who
knows? You might even get to see the "Great Pumpkin!"
