Riversprings Middle School Hosts Science Fair; Winners Announced

Riversprings Middle School Science Fair was held on April 23, 2009 at Riversprings M. S.  The awards were presented to the winners on April 24.  Projects were entered by students from grades (6-8).  The winners will be taking a special field trip to one of two choices – the FSU Coastal & Marine Laboratory OR The Mary Brogan Museum to see the “Our Body – The Universe Within” exhibit.

Behaviorial and Social Science

1st - Kyla Kerce:  "Cat Paw Preference"   **OVERALL 1ST RUNNER UP
2nd - Kelli White:  "Which One is My Dog's Favorite?"
3rd - Alex Gay:  "Maze Craze:  Rat Edition"

Biology

1st - Benjamin Colona:  "Does Scent Trigger a Feeding Response in Fish?"
2nd - Wyatt Harvey:  "The Affect of Breathing on Heart Rate"

Chemistry

1st - Cellena Chavis:  "Nuttergy"  **OVERALL 2ND RUNNER UP
2nd - Ashlan Eddy:  "Do You Know What You are Drinking?"
3rd - Alex Cotes:  "Coke's Other Purpose"

Consumer Science

1st - J. D. Causseaux:  "Gum Statistics"
2nd - Joseph Briggs:  "How Different Goggles Affect Visibility"
