Connie Worrill Is Named Medart Elementary School 2007 Teacher of the Year

Connie Worrill Receives Teacher of the Year Honor from Peers

Medart Elementary School would like to congratulate its 2006-2007 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Connie Worrill.  Not new to this profession, Connie has been teaching for 20 years and has spent the past 6 years as a very valuable member of our Kindergarten team.  Her children, Chase and Cody, also attend Wakulla County schools.  As a teacher, Connie provides not only a high level of educator professionalism but also the love, care, and concern of a mother.

Connie is well-deserving of accolades for her many achievements during her career.  She is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the SACS Committee, the Sunshine Committee and the Relay for Life Committee.  She works very closely with the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and has served on their constituency board for several years.  She is the FDLRS Wakulla County parent contact for families of children with ASD, she is on the Wakulla County ESE Parent Advisory Committee, and she has served as the Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome Parent Support Group Leader in years past.  No one can argue, Connie Worrill cares about children and thinks nothing of giving her own time to ensure that all students have an opportunity to learn.

Have I integrated my curriculum in a meaningful and developmentally appropriate way?  Are my students happy and eager to learn?  If I can accomplish these things in a fun, loving environment, then I am an effective teacher.”  Connie Worrill is a fun, loving, caring, nurturing, and highly effective teacher.  Medart Elementary is extremely proud to call her our own.

According to Principal Robert Pearce, “Mrs. Worrill is an extremely valuable part of our Medart family, and she is always looking for ways to help improve our school.  We all love working with her.”
