Wakulla County MIddle Schools Recognized for 2006 FCAT Reading Scores
Both Riversprings Middle School and Wakulla Middle School were recognized by the Florida Department of Education for the success of their reading scores on the 2006 Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). They each were presented with a large blue and white banner to post in their schools that states, “2006 Shoot for the Stars – We Met the FCAT Reading Scores Challenge”.
The competition included every middle school in Florida. Schools had to increase both their percentage of students reading at or above grade level and their percentage of students making learning gains compared to the prior year’s scores.
“We are proud of this honor earned by both our middle schools,” stated Superintendent David Miller. “The faculty, staff and administrators combine to encourage their students to be high achievers. Reading has always been such an important focus in our schools because we know that with solid reading skills, students can accomplish anything.”
- Beth O' Donnell, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction
