group shot 275.gif

The 2008 Teachers of the Year were officially selected on Friday, December 14, 2007 as the Wakulla County School System "Prize Patrol" visited each school to surprise the winning teachers with flowers and balloons.  Superintendent David Miller, Asst. Superintendent Beth O'Donnell and WSCO employee Rhonda Stevens personally visited each teacher in their classroom to deliver the exciting news.

This year's Teachers of the Year are:

Brenda Hatcher, Business Education teacher at Wakulla High School;

Cindy Burse, 8th grade Reading and Language Arts teacher at Wakulla Middle School;

Donna Sullivan, Home Economics teacher at Riversprings Middle School;

Charlotte Hoover, 5th grade teacher at Medart Elementary School;

Walter Cooper, Music teacher at Crawfordville Elementary School;

Tammi Light, 4th grade teacher at Shadeville Elementary School; and

Janie Tucker, Pre-K ESE teacher at Wakulla Educational Center (WEC).

Teachers were nominated by their peers at each school, then the faculty at each school voted for the teacher who they felt would best represent their school as Teacher of the Year.  The winning teachers will now go on to compete for District Teacher of the Year.  The District winner will be announced in the spring of 2008.  Congratulations to you all!!
