GLORIES OF THE SEASON
Ed Blissard,
Landscape Designer |
Look around you, and you will see that everything is changing. The last few weeks of cool weather have ushered in my favorite time of year. Leaves are colorful. Berries are ripening. Grasses are blooming, and the late afternoon sun has a way of making it all look magic. From the very best garden to the median on the highway, everything just looks better. It is no wonder that, for thousands of years, people have loved and celebrated this time of year. As the years have passed, and we have developed more technical and complex lives, we have moved further and further from nature. Now, we are beginning to realize that we must return to where we started before all is lost.
This holiday season, the Purple Martin Nurseries asks you, implores you, to celebrate the unrivaled beauty of our earth. The most spectacular displays of holiday joy and glory I have seen are always from nature... be it lush garlands and wreaths adorned with berries, cones, and fruit; amaryllis and ivy erupting from the center of the dining room table; piles of ripe jewel tone citrus; or pots loaded with boxwoods and cool weather annuals. Come to the Purple Martin Nurseries, and let us help you make your home warm and welcoming this winter. Holiday decorating is the stuff that family memories are made of, and what better way to pass on love and respect for nature to future generations than to celebrate natural beauty at this most special time of year!
Come to our holiday decorating class on Saturday, December 1, at 10:00am featuring amaryllis, Christmas cactus, citrus, annuals, fresh greenery, and other ideas!! One lucky attendee will win a wreath made by Ed during the class!! RSVP 926 8335.
