The Wakulla Wave 14U girl's softball team just finished their season and came in 18th in the entire state of Florida, out of a total of 84 teams that are sanctioned under USSSA in Florida. The girls did an excellent job this year and are planning on having an even better season this fall.
In October the team will be going to the PFX Tour in Cleremont, Florida (near Orlando), where the girls can participate in a normal tournament. They also get to interact with the ladies who have gone pro in softball, including professional softball player Jessica Mendoza.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for these girls to get to experience a tournament and meet a group of ladies who are now getting paid to play the sport they love.
In all, the team will attend five tournaments this fall. Along with the PFX Tour, the girls will also attend tournaments in Eastern/North Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Western/North Florida.
The 14U team will have tryouts on August 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Medart Recreation Park on Field #7. Participants must be 14 years of age, and must not turn 15 before January 1, 2008.
