Wakulla County State Championship 12u Cal Ripken Baseball Team will Play in Southeast Regionals

{sidebar id=1}Wakulla’s State Championship 12u Cal Ripken baseball team will be in Southeast Regional action beginning on Friday, July 20th, 2007 through Wednesday July 25th.  Wakulla will open pool play in the National Division against the host team from Irvington, Alabama on Friday, July 20, at 3:15 p.m.  The Wakulla stars are then scheduled to play other state chamions from Georgia at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday,July 21, Western North Carolina and Tennessee on Sunday, July 22 at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.

State champions in the American Division include Alabama, Virginia, Eastern North Carolina, South Carolina and South Florida.  Should the Wakulla stars finish pool play in the top 3 of their division, they will advance to a single elimination tournament along with the top 3 teams from the American Division on Tuesday, July 24th. The tournament champion will advance to the Cal Ripken World Series in early August to represent the Southeastern United States.

The team would like to thank the community for their generous support of youth baseball in Wakulla County.  A special thanks is also extended to Ray Gray, Bryan Roddenberry and the entire staff at the Wakulla County Parks and Recreation Department for their hard work during this entire season and post season.
