Riversprings Bears Improve their Record to 4 - 0 by Defeating Taylor County

Thursday, October 4th, the Bears football team traveled to Taylor County to take on the Bulldogs.  As per usual this season, the defense dominated the night, and the Bears brought home a 26 – 8 victory over the pups.

Luke Taylor and Ryan Henderson led the Defense.  Taylor had 5 tackles, including a quarterback sack, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown.  Henderson also had 5 tackles, as well as delivering some big hits.  Chase Maxwell also had 3 solo tackles, including a quarterback sack, and Mikal Cromartie intercepted a Bulldog pass.  Head coach Joe Jacobs said, “Our defense is as tough as they come at the middle school level, and the scary thing is that they are getting better every game.”

Offensively, the RMS rushing attack was in full force.  Demetrius Lindsey led all rushers with 115 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown.  Dillon Norman picked up 61 yards on 10 carries.  Quintus Wardlow also ran the ball 4 times for 61 yards and a touchdown.  Jordan Montague also threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Demetrius Lindsey.

The Bears improved their record to 4 – 0 on the season.  Riversprings’ next game is at home on Tuesday, October 9 against the Franklin County Seahawks.  The Bears also return home to face the FAMU Rattlers on Tuesday, October 16th.  Both games will be at 6:00 p.m.
