The War Eagle Football team has performed well for the last several years, and Coach Klees is anticipating continued success in 2010. The 2009 War Eagle team was a young team, but with a good core of rising seniors and juniors, along with some promising performances from rising sophomores. Coach Klees is expecting a strong showing from these young men again in the 2010 season.
As Coach Klees and his players get geared up for the start of spring practice, which begins May 1st, there is a lot work going on “behind the scenes” to support the coaches and the players. The football boosters, AKA – “Wakulla Gridiron Club” are already working hard to raise funds to fulfill the team’s needs and supply the funds needed to enable the players to attend several skills and team building camps to further their training during the summer.
The Gridiron Club will be calling on, emailing and visiting local businesses over the next few weeks to ask for your support in sponsoring our team for this upcoming season. When you are called on, please take a moment to review the opportunities available, and if at all possible support our football team. In addition to business sponsor opportunities, individuals can help support the players by purchasing season tickets, and/or attending the many upcoming community events over the next few months. Season Tickets are available now, so get your renewals in ASAP to keep your seats from last year, or if you will be getting seats for the first time, order early to ensure you get the best seats available after the renewals are recieved.
Some of our exciting upcoming community events include: War Eagle Football Fan Day (date and location to be announced soon); Spring Game w/ Fish Fry (May 21, 2010; and Meet the Coaches (date and location TBA). We hope to see you all at one or all of these events.
