Wakulla Democratic Executive Committee Gala a Success;
Thanks to All Who Made It Happen
Wakulla Democrats and Friends:
What a night!
{sidebar id=1}First, thank you if you came out to our event last night, it was a great evening. From what I can tell everyone enjoyed themselves, and I hope took something away from the messages brought by Senator Rod Smith and Florida Democratic Party Chair Karen Thurman.
Chair Thurman’s insight into the Presidential Primary process, and her support of counting every vote was encouraging. I appreciate her coming to visit with us and introducing Senator Smith. Senator Smith’s message was insightful, funny and enlightening. Senator Smith always manages to reinvigorate my belief's and restore my energy to keep working towards a better society.
I want to thank our sponsors Tri-Eagle Sales, Purple Martin Nurseries, and the Mainstream Democrats. I also want to thank Rep. Curtis Richardson for attending, and his generous financial donation to our committee’s efforts.
We also were able to recognize our Supevisor of Elections Sherida Crum for her hard work and for being a national leader on how to conduct elections. Sheriff Harvey and Tax Collector Olah both shared stories regarding Sherida, and helped us all share our pride over her hard work. We appreciate all that she has already done on our behalf, and as I said last night, I am glad that she will be conducting this next very important election.
We are lucky to have so many elected Democrats in Wakulla County, Democrats who are proud to come out and show their support for their local party. We will continue to do all that we can to help get Democrats elected in Wakulla County. Thank you to all of the electeds who attended last night.
I want to thank Rachel Sutz-Pienta, Karla Revels, and Verna Brock for their hard work putting the night together. I also want to thank all the people who helped with set up and clean up yesterday. I was impressed by how many people were willing to help set up and clean up yesterday and your help is very much appreciated.
Last night I had the chance to introduce many people who I consider role models in public service, some who had the chance to address the crowd from the podium and some who were in the crowd to show their support. We are very lucky, here in Wakulla, to have such great people willing to support us and our efforts.
We are in the process of planning another event, along the lines of a town hall, in November to raise awareness about the constitutional amendment that will be on the ballot in January. I hope that many of you will be able to make it out for that event.
Thank you all, and I look forward to seeing you again soon,
Sincerely,
Alan Brock
Chair
