Azalea Park was Ready for Senior Promenade
Last Friday night, hundreds of high school Seniors and Juniors gathered at Azalea Park for “pre-prom pictures”. There is no better sight than to see young men and women proudly modeling their formal wear.
I would like to express my personal appreciation to our Park Department for giving the gazebo a fresh coat of white paint so pictures would look great. I called on Monday and by Wednesday the job was complete. Thank you to our park personnel for their quick response. I imagine thousands of pictures were snapped on Friday evening.
In addition, Purple Martin Nursery generously provided plants to “dress up” the gazebo. I would like to thank my wife, Tina, for initiating the extra detail of providing a backdrop in the gazebo. She asked Glenn Campbell, owner of Purple Martin, if she could borrow some plants and he immediately volunteered to provide whatever greenery she needed. Northern Lights also gave greenery to add that extra pizzazz to pictures. The pictures taken are something our young women and men will cherish for life. It is always impressive how our businesses continue to give. Thank you, Purple Martin and Northern Lights!
I couldn’t help but include a picture of my son, Stuart, and Sara Daw. Don’t they look great? The other picture is of Reggie Coles, one of Stuart’s good friends. Notice the freshly painted gazebo in the background. There were hundreds of great-looking Wakulla High students at the park on Friday night. I know I join all the proud parents in congratulating our seniors.
