Damayan's Autumn Splendor Garden Tour Benefit to be Held in October

Garden Benefit Tour to be Held in October

damayan logo 125.gif Damayan's Autumn Splendor, a Garden Tour Benefit, will be held on October 13, 2007.  The event is expected to draw a large crowd due to our celebrity speaker, Jon Carloftis, and selection of gardens.

Jon Carloftis is a contributing editor of Garden Design and a regional writer for Country Gardens.  He has made television appearances on Martha Stewart Living, ABC’s Good Morning America, and HGTV, just to mention a few.  Jon knows how to create a beautiful garden designed for you to entertain in, or just escape from day-to-day pressures.

{sidebar id=1}This event is presented by The Damayan Garden Project:  educating people and promoting ecological literacy and healthy living through hands on organic gardening.  Committed to improving the quality of food available to low-income citizens and schoolchildren through family gardens, community gardens, and edible schoolyards.  Through environmental and nutritional education, our school and community gardens build a foundation of self-reliance, leadership, and systematic thinking that stays with students throughout their lives.  Our family gardens give fresh organic produce to people who would not otherwise have access to such healthy food choices.

Tickets are $45.00 each and include the lecture with Jon Carloftis, a self guided tour, and Lunch.  Tickets can be purchased at Tallahassee Nurseries, Native Nurseries and Esposito’s in Tallahassee, Purple Martin Nurseries in Crawfordville, and Just Fruits and Exotics in Medart.

Carloftis will be speaking at the Florida Department of Agriculture, Eyster Auditorium, 3125 Conner Blvd., Tallahassee, FL on Oct 13, 2007 at 10:00 am.  A self-guided tour will immediately follow from 12:00 – 4:00 pm.
