Angelo's Seafood Restaurant, a long-time tradition for wonderful seafood and fantastic ambience, held on as long as it could against the formidable force of Hurricane Dennis' storm surge.  These photos, taken by Jenny Petrandis, show the struggle between man and nature as waves pound relentlessly on the Wakulla County landmark that is Angelo's.

UPDATE:  According to Jenny Petrandis, Angelo's has received all the necessary permits to rebuild on the same site.  They are just waiting for one insurance adjustor to complete his analysis.  The new restaurant will have 2 stories, and will be built UP on concrete pilings.  Says Jenny, "So if there is another storm, it can just go right under us!"  Wood from the original building will be used in the construction of the new structure, and Jenny says they hope to be open again by 4th of July 2006!

Thank you for rebuilding. To lose the history of why George\'s was built (to bring the \'wet\'to thirsty Wakullians)in the first place is like letting cary Nation win.
