Ninth Annual Wakulla County Rotary Club's Valentines Day Celebration Draws Large Crowd

Wakulla County Rotary Club's Valentine's Day Celebration a Huge Success!

Saturday morning brought the Rotary Valentine's Day Celebration bright and early, with those strong enough to brave the cold coming out for a delicious breakfast, sponsored by Ameris Bank, of scrambled eggs, sausage, and lots of hot coffee!  The event continued with the Winn-Dixie Sweetheart Parade at 10:00.  There were more entries than ever before, and parade organizers worked diligently up until the very last minute to make sure it all went off without a hitch.  Entries included a variety of participants, including cheerleaders, clowns, elected officials, horses, and school bands!  Thanks to all who entered and helped make it a fun event for all.  (Pictured:  Senior Citizen's Queen Gloria Mathis)

While strolling about the park, guests were entertained by some of Wakulla County's finest talent, including Trafton Harvey, the High Mileage Band, COAST Charter School music students, the Wakulla Springs Baptist Church Interpretive Dance Group, Ray Rogers, Monica Thorpe, and several Wakulla High School solo vocalists (including Rhiannon Vinson, Ashlynn Tobell, and Mary Lee Brandt.)  Thanks to them all for making the day even more special for everyone.

Pamela Skinner was the Grand Prize winner of the day, winning the $1000 shopping spree, and Ruby Metcalf won the $500 shopping spree. Congratulations to them both, and thanks to all the members of the community who came out to support the Rotary Club. All the proceeds raised at the festival will go to accomplish good works right here in Wakulla County.
