Santa Clause is coming to St. Marks by boat! The annual St. Marks Christmas Boat Parade will be Saturday, December 9, at 6:00 PM. Boats of all sizes will be lit up with Christmas decorations.
Santa will be throwing candy to the children at the St.
Marks River Park and Boat Landing. Come early and pick out a good
viewing place at the park or Riverside Cafe, Lynn's Riverside Marine or
Shields Marina.
The St. Marks Yacht Club sponsors the Christmas Boat Parade each year. All boat owners are welcome to join the fun. Interested boaters may contact Billy Bishop at (850)925-6811 or (850)933-1718, or email him at capttazz1@earthlink.net. Both sailboats and power boats are invited to participate, as long as the vessel has a motor. Organizers need to know the size of the boat and its name. Boats will monitor channel 69. All boats must be decorated and music and holiday lighting is encouraged.
The boats will congregate in front of the St. Marks Yacht Club and the
parade will proceed down the Wakulla River and up the St. Marks River
to Lynn's Riverside Marina. Once at Lynn's, the boats will turn
around and travel back to the St. Marks boat ramp where the parade will
make another turn to the Wakulla River and repeat the route a second
time. After the last trip down the St. Marks River, participants
can return to their slips or to the St. Marks Yacht Club. Skippers are requested to attend the Skippers
Meeting at 4:00 PM, Saturday, December 9 at the St. Marks Yacht Club
on Yacht Club Lane in St. Marks. Please register
by December 4th. Registration may be completed by email to
capttazz1@earthlink.net or by calling Billy Bishop There is
no entry fee for this unique event.
The above picture is of the sailboat "Magic Dragon". Owners Phil and Mickey Cantner decorated it with a giant puppet Nutcracker in 2004. They played the music from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker". His legs and arms moved with the beat. Come and see what they have planned for this years' theme! It will be sure to bring a smile to young and old.

Motor yacht "Reel Lady" was all aglow for the Christmas Boat Parade in
2004. Owners Billy and Charlene Bishop are preparing for another
fun year. The town of St. Marks welcomes
everyone to "Come on down and enjoy the St. Marks Christmas Boat Parade."
