Plans are Underway for the 2009 Sopchoppy 4th of July Celebration!
Welcome to The Sopchoppy 4th of July Parade 2009! My name is Debbie Dix, and I am again the Volunteer Coordinator for this year’s parade. Any interest in participating in the parade, or setting up a booth downtown before and during the parade, should be directed to me, either by email, or by phoning one of the numbers above. Any interest in participating in the Sopchoppy Park events before the fireworks, or setting up a booth there, should be directed to The City of Sopchoppy: 850-962-4611.
{sidebar id=3}This year’s parade will begin at 4 p.m. and the Sopchoppy City Park will open at 5 p.m. The downtown Sopchoppy merchants will offer special activities, live music, food and more during the day leading up to the parade. Be sure to save time to check out the local shops and eating establishments as there has been a great deal of new improvements over the past year. Line-up for the parade will begin around 3 p.m., beginning at the former “Mom’s Restaurant” building.
Special events will be announced in local media venues, so check newspapers, magazines, websites, etc., for unfolding details.
Donations will be accepted to up the parade prize anty and defer expenses this year, if you are so inclined to make an offer. Checks can be made out to: SPIA (Sopchoppy Preservation & Improvement Association), and in the “For” space, at the bottom left on the checks, please write in “Sopchoppy 4th of July Parade).
