Upcoming Events for the Iris Garden Club in Wakulla County
The Iris Garden Club will host the following events during late September and October:
Tuesday, September 29, 2009
Workday at Wakulla County Public Library from 8:30 until 10:00
We need to keep removing weeds, planting wildflowers and sowing wildflower seeds. Join me for some fresh air and healthy exercise. I'll give guidance on which plants are the wildflowers and which are weeds.
Saturday October 3, 2009
An Iris Garden Club Yard Sale will be held in conjunction with WC Public Library Book Sale. We need to begin setting up by 8:15. Bring any prepriced items that you are donating for this event by 8:30. At 12:00 noon we will pack up any left over items and drop them at Goodwill or another non profit thrift store. Be there by 11:45 if you want any of your unsold items back. I have several boxes of things but I hope other members contribute salable items, too. Do not bring any clothing unless it is garden related. Please send me an email or call if you can help with this event. Since I am the librarian (volunteer) at COAST I'd like to look over the books, too. Come look over the room full of books and take home the ones you want for a monetary donation to the library.
Tuesday, October 6, 2009
The October Iris Garden Club Board meeting will be held at 1:00 in the conference room at the library. Please let me know if you have anything to add to the agenda.

Iris Garden Club General Meeting
Topic-"Wakulla Weeds"
Presented by master gardeners Bill and Jeannie and other long time weed pullers. Bring your least favorite weed for identification and ways to get rid of them. I've been potting up weeds from my yard, the library and school. It's amazing how many different ones there are!
Tuesday, October 27, 2009
10:30 until 12:00 noon Workday at Wakulla County Senior Citizens Center. Come and see what Tamara and her helpers have created! Help her maintain the area around the gazebo.
I hope to see you soon.
