Florida Wild Mammal Association News and Notes - March 2009

FWMA will hold its Spring Yard Sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 26th, 27th, 28th at Nad’s Self Storage in Crawfordville. WE NEED ITEMS TO SELL! Nad’s has graciously donated a storage unit – if you have items to drop off, they may be left at Unit #4. Or you may bring your items to Nad’s on Thursday night, March 26th after 4pm! If you have questions, please contact Chris at 363-2351. THANKS SO MUCH!

We need a new storage shed – all donations from the newest On-line Contest will go toward the purchase of a shed. This contest is sure to be a great one! It’s called, “My Wildlife Encounter” - for complete details on this contest, please visit: www.wakullawildlife.org/encounter.html

{sidebar id=1}On Thursday evening, March 12th, FWMA will join with Goose Creek Wildlife Sanctuary for Art Goes Wild. This is an event to benefit both organizations with Artists Displays and a Silent Auction. It will be held from 5:30 to 8:30pm at the Tallahassee Auto Museum. The FWMA Education Booth will be set up after the Parade on St. Paddy’s on March 14th in Crawfordville and at the Wakulla Wildlife Festival on April 4th at the Wakulla Springs State Park. Rob will be there with the FWMA Education Animals! Stop by and see what’s new!

FWMA holds a meeting for volunteers every Tuesday morning at 10am. Want to know what’s up and what you can do to help? Please join us! You do NOT have to attend every meeting – just come when you can - and attending a meeting does NOT commit you to anything! FWMA has a variety of very cool and fun projects going on and we ALWAYS need extra hearts, heads, hands and bodies! Come join us!

FWMA hosts Bingo every Thursday night at Hamaknockers Oasis in Panacea from 6-9pm. Come on by for an evening of good food and great fun!

On Sunday, April 19th, FWMA will hold a Spring Arts and Crafts Sale from 11am to 3pm at the Inn at Wildwood on Rt. 98 in Crawfordville. Mark the date on your calendar and plan to attend. Local Artists and Crafters will exhibit and there will be a great Chinese Auction! Hope to see you there. (There are still a few Vendor Spots available!
