Wakulla United Methodist Church Announces New Youth Minister

Youth-welcome-Josh-HawkinsWakulla Station - The Wakulla United Methodist Church appointed Josh Hawkins Youth Minister effective immediately in January 2012.

“Josh is a very spiritual, mature young man who is knowledgeable in the Scriptures and filled with wonderful ideas of how to relate to the young people of our church,” said Reverend Janice Henry-Rinehart.  “He comes highly respected from our own previous experiences with him as a former member of our church.  Josh is a child of our own congregation.”

Hawkins will graduate this coming June with a 3.5 unweighted GPA and more than 30 hours of college credit from Tallahassee Community College.  He is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Captain at Wakulla High School for more than a year.  Serving as the leader of the Middle School Boys at Crawfordville United Methodist Church, Hawkins also has experience teaching youth Bible study classes.

"I am incredibly excited to lead the church youth at WUMC, the church I grew up in” said Hawkins.  “Knowing how much of an impact the youth group had on my life, I want to be a part of impacting other teenagers lives."

The Youth will meet on Sunday afternoons at 6 pm at the church at 1584 Old Woodville Road and everyone ages sixth grade through high school are welcome.  "I am so thankful and excited about Josh joining us as a youth pastor.  I can't wait for us to start meeting again,” said Devon Jose, a Wakulla High School  student.
